The latest confirmed development in apprentice vote is that residents and workers have had their first chance to question the measure in public. The update comes from the Lower Ward meeting hall; officials have not announced a permanent change to the rule.
Tova Brann, delegate for the shared workshops, confirmed 53 apprentices listed by trade in the latest file. The previous count was 52. The figures do not yet resolve whether apprentices may elect a voting delegate while still bound to a master’s shop.
The unresolved point is specific: Guild stewards argue that apprentices lack independent contracts; the apprentices say they already carry independent duties and risk. No finding has established that either account is final.
The current arrangement remains in place. The office has not said whether it will change before the next review.
NEXT UPDATE: The table has asked the guilds to produce their current contract forms. The file will be updated when the second check is complete; until then, the confirmed record is narrower than the claims around it.
