The latest file on the ash assessment records that residents and workers have had their first chance to question the measure in public. The existing rule remains in force; officials have not announced a permanent change.

Marda Thenn, keeper of the municipal fuel register, said the latest file records 19 hearth entries, compared with 17 in the previous count. The figures cover the entries on the register, not every condition at the site.

The levy is assessed by furnace capacity, while small workshops say capacity does not show how many hours a kiln actually runs. The current record does not settle that disagreement. At the latest public table, residents asked the clerk to keep their account beside the source count. No final finding has been issued.

Mara Veld checked the kiln-duty roll and its exemption slips against the field notes. The method is to begin with the signed text, then test it against the people asked to carry it out; it confirms the entries, but not every interpretation attached to them. The docket is marked ASH-ASSESSMENT-11, and the next check is assigned to a second crew.

The chamber’s committee must publish a revised rate table before the next firing season. Until that check is complete, the schedule already in force continues to govern.
