The latest file on the cliffside lift records that a field check has compared the written rule with the place where it is used. The existing rule remains in force; officials have not announced a permanent change.
Hessi Varn, lift master on the east ascent, said the latest file records 50 completed lift runs, compared with 54 in the previous count. The figures cover the entries on the register, not every condition at the site.
A full closure is safer and shorter; a staged closure preserves access but leaves less time for a second inspection. The current record does not settle that disagreement. At the latest public table, residents asked the clerk to keep their account beside the source count. No final finding has been issued.
Tavi Orr checked the lift’s rope-change log and its passenger closure notices against the field notes. The method is to trace a system from its control gate to the last household it is meant to serve; it confirms the entries, but not every interpretation attached to them. The docket is marked CLIFFSIDE-LIFT-06, and the next check is assigned to a second crew.
The lift office will post a day-by-day access plan with the rope crew’s sign-off. Until that check is complete, the schedule already in force continues to govern.
