The latest file on the furnace breath records that a public vote has approved a narrow change while leaving the larger question open. The existing rule remains in force; officials have not announced a permanent change.
Mera Doss, first smelter on the north furnace crew, said the latest file records 31 cooling pauses per completed charge, compared with 27 in the previous count. The figures cover the entries on the register, not every condition at the site.
The mill measures fuel by charge; the crew says time spent clearing a slow draft is missing from that total. The current record does not settle that disagreement. At the latest public table, residents asked the clerk to keep their account beside the source count. No final finding has been issued.
Maela Dorn checked the furnace heat marks and the crew’s pause-and-return log against the field notes. The method is to follow the task through a complete shift, including the cleanup after the bell; it confirms the entries, but not every interpretation attached to them. The docket is marked FURNACE-BREATH-18, and the next check is assigned to a second crew.
The next trial will record both charge time and the minutes spent clearing the intake. Until that check is complete, the schedule already in force continues to govern.
