The latest confirmed development in furnace breath is that residents and workers have had their first chance to question the measure in public. The update comes from the north furnace aisle in the communal ironworks; officials have not announced a permanent change to the rule.

Mera Doss, first smelter on the north furnace crew, confirmed 69 cooling pauses per completed charge in the latest file. The previous count was 68. The figures do not yet resolve whether the new fuel mix can cut smoke without requiring a longer hot shift.

The unresolved point is specific: The mill measures fuel by charge; the crew says time spent clearing a slow draft is missing from that total. No finding has established that either account is final.

The current arrangement remains in place. The office has not said whether it will change before the next review.

NEXT UPDATE: The next trial will record both charge time and the minutes spent clearing the intake. The file will be updated when the second check is complete; until then, the confirmed record is narrower than the claims around it.
